13 Kilos Gone, Strength Gained: Ed Sheeran’s Radical Makeover Has Everyone Talking

Ed Sheeran has surprised fans with a striking new appearance, becoming the cover star of the latest British edition of Men’s Health. The 34-year-old musician posed shirtless for the magazine, confidently showing off a lean, toned physique, complete with his signature tattoos across his shoulders and torso.

The dramatic change didn’t happen overnight. In a candid interview, Ed revealed that his commitment to health only truly began after becoming a father. He shares two young daughters—five-year-old Lyra and three-year-old Jupiter—with his wife, Cherry Seaborn, and fatherhood forced him to rethink his lifestyle.

He explained that everyday moments with his children became a wake-up call. Simple things like lifting them without discomfort suddenly mattered, as did the physical demands of performing on stage. As he entered his thirties, Ed noticed his stamina declining, his voice struggling more often, and a series of injuries—from strained leg muscles to back pain—interrupting his live shows. He admitted that he wanted to feel powerful and unstoppable again when performing.

Sheeran ultimately lost around 13 kilograms through a long-term, disciplined approach to fitness. His routine included pilates, running, swimming, and strength training, a process that took more than five years to fully reshape his body and endurance.

Despite the transformation, Ed hasn’t embraced an overly restrictive lifestyle. He shared that he still enjoys food and drinks, but now practices moderation and balance. His workouts vary day by day—sometimes cardio-focused, sometimes strength-based, and other times centered on pilates—allowing him to stay healthy without giving up the pleasures he loves.
