There is hardly anyone who will question the identity of this acclaimed and versatile American actor and producer. He has also deservedly earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting actor. He catapulted to overall fame and recognition after his breakthrough role in the Green Mile. There, he brilliantly portrayed John. Especially the ending of the movie deeply touched the viewers bringing most of them to tears.

Among his other remarkable roles are in «Armageddon», «The Scorpion King», «Sin City», «Kung Gu Panda» as well as «The Green Lantern». Throughout his career he received high praise and acclaim establishing himself as one of the most in-demand and influential actors of the era.

However, little is known about his personal life. It was not as smooth as it might seem. The future star was raised by a single mother. They had severe financial problems and he even had to drop out of school so as to find a job. His height let him work as a bodyguard and helped his mother to make the ends meet.

Life was merciless to the legendary man, though. In 2012 he was sent to hospital after having a heart attack which led to further complications and became fatal. Soon, the actor passed away at the age of 54 and the world bitterly said goodbye to him.
