Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, gave the public a rare and heartwarming peek into family life by posting two candid photos of Prince William with their children in honor of Father’s Day.
While most countries mark Father’s Day on the third Sunday in June, the royal family joined in the global tradition by sharing the celebration online. To mark the occasion, Kate posted two delightful pictures capturing a sweet moment between Prince William and their three kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The photos were taken in a lush, flower-filled garden, where the family wore coordinated outfits. William and his sons sported casual sweaters and jeans, while Charlotte matched her dad with a sweater in the same tone, paired with a denim skirt. The first picture looks like something out of a family portrait album — the foursome standing arm in arm, beaming with wide smiles.
But it was the second photo that really caught attention: it showed a much more relaxed and fun side of royal life. In it, William was playfully tackled to the grass by his giggling children, as they all burst into laughter. Kate captioned the post simply: “Happy Father’s Day! Before and after!”
The joyful pictures were taken by professional royal photographer Josh Shinner, not Kate herself.
Fans quickly flooded the internet with comments, applauding the genuine emotion on display. “Such a lovely family! So nice to see the real side of them,” one person wrote. “William clearly enjoys being a hands-on dad,” said another. Others noted how refreshing it was to see the royals let loose: “This is the kind of moment behind every perfect picture — and it’s great they shared it.”
