Lady Gaga has done it again — quietly transforming her look and instantly setting the internet talking. This time, the shift isn’t loud or theatrical, but nostalgic, intimate, and deliberately retro.
In a black-and-white commercial shared on January 29, Lady Gaga revealed a new hairstyle created for an upcoming Super Bowl ad. Gone is the dark hair she’s worn in recent months. In its place: long blonde locks, parted to the side and styled into soft, vintage-inspired curls that feel straight out of another era.
The commercial shows Gaga inside Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California, recording a cover of “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” — the iconic theme song from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Dressed in a plunging black gown layered with a simple black cardigan, she sings with restraint and warmth, letting emotion do the work rather than spectacle.

In the clip, Gaga speaks openly about why the song mattered to her. She described Mister Rogers as someone who “stood for something,” and reflected on how powerful his message feels in the current moment. Revisiting the song, she said, felt especially meaningful now.

She also explained that the goal wasn’t to reinvent the track beyond recognition, but to preserve its innocence while giving it a new voice. The result is something gentle, reverent, and deeply personal — a rare tonal shift for an artist known for extremes.
In her caption, Gaga expanded on that sentiment. She wrote about Mister Rogers being a comforting presence for generations of families and children around the world, and said she felt honored to be invited by Rocket and Fred Rogers Productions to reinterpret such a beloved song. She thanked Mister Rogers directly, crediting him for a message that continues to live on in people’s hearts.

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood originally aired from 1968 to 2001, and Fred Rogers passed away in 2003. Gaga’s cover will appear in a Super Bowl advertisement for Redfin and Rocket, releasing while she’s in the middle of her The Mayhem Ball tour. The tour is currently running through Tokyo before returning to the United States next month.

The blonde curls mark yet another pivot in Gaga’s ever-changing style story. Just months ago, she debuted a striking black hair look in Paris. Before that, she was seen filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 wearing platinum blonde. Earlier in 2025, she experimented with a sharp black bob and baby bangs, and even teased a red hairstyle in a January 2 Instagram post.
Each change feels intentional. Each one signals a different chapter.
With this latest transformation, Lady Gaga isn’t just switching hair colors — she’s stepping into memory, emotion, and a softer kind of power.
