At first glance, it looked like nothing more than a simple white plate sitting at the bottom of a stack in the store. But the woman instantly realized it could become something completely different.
While all the other plates were dark-colored, one plain white plate caught her attention immediately. She carefully pulled it out and already had an idea in mind — turning it into a beautiful vintage-style wall clock.
The hardest part was making a hole in the center for the clock mechanism.

At first, she considered taking the plate to a glass workshop because she was terrified it might crack. But her husband managed to drill the opening himself in just a few minutes using a carbide-tipped drill bit while she carefully poured water over the drilling spot to keep the ceramic cool.
Thankfully, the plate survived perfectly.

For the design, she decided to create a rustic farmhouse-style clock. She found a black-and-white clock face online, printed several versions, and chose the one she liked best. To match the countryside aesthetic, she also added vintage cow illustrations.

Next came the clock mechanism itself. At the craft store, she selected an 18 mm threaded mechanism because the ceramic plate was fairly thick. She also chose matching clock hands to fit the design.

First, the printed clock face was glued onto the plate. Instead of expensive craft glue, she used ordinary wallpaper glue — something she always keeps at home.

After everything dried completely, she attached the decorative image on top and painted the rim of the plate black using acrylic paint.

To protect the entire design, she sealed it with two layers of clear varnish so the finished clock could easily be wiped clean without damaging the artwork.

Finally, she assembled the clock mechanism, inserted the battery, and hung it up.

The result looked nothing like an ordinary kitchen plate anymore.

Instead, it became a charming handmade wall clock that looked far more expensive and stylish than anyone expected.
