In a small village in Bangladesh, a tiny cow named Rani has become an unlikely global sensation. Standing at just 51 centimeters tall and weighing only 26 kilograms, Rani might be small in size—but the attention she’s attracting is absolutely massive.
Despite ongoing pandemic restrictions and closed borders, thousands of people are traveling to Charigram just to catch a glimpse of this miniature marvel. Tourists line up to snap selfies with Rani, creating unexpected crowds and giving local officials a serious headache.
Rani, nearly two years old, isn’t particularly thrilled by the attention. She prefers the quiet of her barn and the company of her fellow animals. But ever since her photos went viral, she’s been at the center of an unrelenting media storm.
Her size has put her in line to dethrone the current Guinness World Record holder—Manikyama, a cow from Kerala, India, who stands 61 centimeters tall. Rani is a full 10 centimeters shorter, and her owners are now waiting for official confirmation from inspectors to seal her place in the record books.
Interestingly, Rani is a member of a Bhutanese meat breed, which usually isn’t known for such extreme size differences. Her miniature stature has left even veterinarians surprised.
