🐶 He ignored every fancy toy in the house—plush animals, squeaky bones, ropes—and fell madly in love with… a crusty old mop bucket. Meet Bidoof, the rescue dog whose heart belongs to plastic 💘 Full story in the article below 👇
Dogs are known for their loyalty, affection, and sometimes… their very odd preferences. While many pups become attached to their humans, some form bonds with the most unexpected things. And that’s exactly what happened with a lovable rescue dog named Bidoof.
It all started when Stacey Zitto and her two dogs, Lilo and Stitch, were enjoying a local summer fair. Among the games and food stands, Stacey noticed a small section set up by a nearby animal shelter. Curious, she wandered over—and that’s when she saw him.
There, among the other adoptable dogs, was a pit bull mix with soulful eyes and a goofy smile. The moment she knelt down, the dog flipped onto his back, inviting a belly rub like they were old friends. Stacey felt an instant connection.
She walked away to explore more of the fair, but her mind stayed with that dog. By the time she returned home, she had made her decision—this pup was joining the family. Her husband’s surprised “Wow” on the phone was all the approval she needed.
After all the paperwork and home checks were complete, the dog—now named Bidoof—was officially part of the Zitto household. Lilo and Stitch accepted him right away, and the family showered him with affection… and toys. Plush animals, squeaky bones, chew ropes—you name it, they bought it.
But Bidoof didn’t care about any of it.
Instead, he trotted out into the backyard, found an old plastic mop bucket… and fell head over paws in love with it. He rolled it, barked at it, pounced on it, and carried it around proudly as if it were treasure.
To this day, that crusty old bucket remains Bidoof’s prized possession. He doesn’t want anything else. Well—except for a crinkly 0.33-liter plastic bottle, which ranks a close second on his very short toy list.
Stacey admits she was initially disappointed that Bidoof ignored all the brand-new toys. But now, she just laughs and says she envies his ability to find pure joy in something so simple.
