This dog became a single father to five orphaned cheetah cubs.
This Australian Shepherd proved to the world that nothing is impossible for a dog when he became a single father of five orphaned cheetah cubs. The babies’ mother died shortly after giving birth, and their chances of survival were slim. But because Blakely was such a good dog, they all got a second chance.
The five cubs, three males and two females, were born at the Cheetah Breeding Center at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in Ohio, where their mother, Willow, was a permanent resident. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, the 5-year-old cheetah passed away a few weeks after giving birth.
The crew did everything possible to save the kids, but everyone understood that this was impossible. For the first few weeks of life, cubs should be close to their mothers. Despite this, the cubs were taken to a nursery where they received the best possible medical care and were bottle fed around the clock.
However, the most important thing for the workers was to maintain body temperature. All they needed was the warmth of their mother’s body. Blakely entered at that moment.
Blakely, who has lived in the facility since being rescued from a local shelter at the age of seven months, is more like a therapy dog. This is not the first time Australian pastors have encountered such a situation.
Blakely provides them with mommy comfort and the little ones seem to enjoy cuddling up to him and climbing with him. Even though they get along so well, Blakely only visits them twice a day. The rest of the time, the staff makes sure they eat well and sleep well.
