“From scrap to dream pavilion…” 🌿✨ With just 8 old pallets, she built a backyard escape that looks like it belongs in a magazine. You won’t believe how simple it really was—see the photos in the article below 👇
Tanya Woolston decided to transform a corner of her yard by creating a cozy pavilion using nothing more than discarded wooden pallets. Her project quickly drew attention online, with people admiring how she turned something so simple into a stylish retreat.
The entire structure was made from eight pallets. Tanya used a crowbar and pliers to take them apart, then sanded each piece to remove rough edges and dirt. She left one pallet intact and used it as the base of the construction. From there, she assembled a straightforward rectangular frame that formed the skeleton of her pavilion.
To add charm, she drilled small holes into the beams and hung lantern-style lights. The frame and foundation were painted in a soft gray shade, giving the structure a modern look.
Once the paint dried, Tanya set up a bed inside, using an old mattress she covered with a waterproof DIY slipcover made from the same fabric she used for pillowcases. For finishing touches, she draped fabric across the pavilion, creating an elegant atmosphere that looked worthy of a magazine photoshoot.
What started as a pile of weathered pallets became a stylish outdoor escape — proof that with a little creativity and effort, you don’t need a big budget to enjoy comfort and beauty at home.
