Richard Gere, now 76, made a rare public appearance together with his wife, Alejandra Silva, 42, turning heads as the couple walked the red carpet together. The actor and the Spanish publicist, who married in 2018, looked closer than ever as they stepped out in Madrid.
The couple, who have two young sons — Alexander and James — were attending the premiere of their short documentary Lo Que Nadie Quiere Ver (“What Nobody Wants to See”). Alejandra also has a son named Albert from a previous relationship, while Gere is the father to his adult son, Homer James, from his marriage to Carey Lowell.

Gere and Alejandra recently relocated to Spain, her home country, after the actor sold his longtime Connecticut estate for $11 million. The move, Gere explained, was a way to give Alejandra proximity to her roots after she spent six years living in the U.S. for him. “It’s only fair that I now spend time in her world,” he told Vanity Fair Spain.

Their love story began in 2014 when they met at a hotel in Positano, Italy. Gere has often joked that Alejandra “didn’t know who he was” at first, teasing that she had confused him with George Clooney. Alejandra, however, insists she knew exactly who he was — just not through many of his films.

Speaking to Elle Spain, Gere revealed that their connection was immediate. “For me, it was instant,” he said. “I felt genuinely happy just looking at her. It was one of those moments where everything clicks.”
The outing in Madrid offered fans a not-before-seen glimpse of the couple’s affection — a reminder that even after years together and multiple relocations, their bond remains unmistakably strong.
