This week, she also made an important revelation about her journey as a mother.
At the Dior show during Paris Fashion Week on September 26, 2023, Charlize Theron turned heads with her bold fashion statement. The “Young Adult” star donned a high-waisted tan skirt featuring a scalloped hem, which left little to the imagination.
The loosely crocheted fabric, adorned with crystals, allowed her black underwear to peek through. She paired the ensemble with a crisp white collared shirt, styled with a French tuck.
Charlize, who has long been associated with the J’adore Dior fragrance, was joined by her daughter, Jackson Theron, who is 11. Jackson also displayed her fashion flair, wearing a top similar to her mother’s under a stylish plaid jacket and coordinating skirt.
Despite her fashionable appearance at the Christian Dior Womenswear Spring/Summer 2024 presentation, not everyone was impressed. Following a tabloid’s post featuring photos from the event, critics took to social media to express their disapproval. One commenter remarked, “Looks like she forgot part of her dress.”
Another critic chimed in, “Shame on her!” They questioned why accomplished women feel the need to showcase their underwear publicly, calling it “distasteful and desperate.” One Instagram user added, “Can you imagine your mom showing up like this?”

Charlize is a proud mother of two daughters, and she has often shared that they bring immense joy to her life. She became a single parent in 2012 when she adopted Jackson, followed by the adoption of August three years later.
Her decision to adopt was not influenced by her relationship status. Growing up in South Africa, she was aware of orphanages and the plight of children in need.
Charlize has always been open with her partners about her desire to adopt, stating, “This was never a second option for me. It was always my first.”
When she began the adoption process, she cast a wide net, believing that the right child would find her. She applied in every country that permitted single-parent adoptions.
Both of her daughters were born in the United States and are African American. Charlize felt her expectations for the adoption experience were fulfilled, saying, “These two babies were meant to be in my life — they are my children.”
In an interview with Extra TV, she candidly acknowledged that while motherhood is incredibly fulfilling, it can also feel isolating. “I think there are many aspects of raising kids that people hesitate to discuss, leaving you feeling quite alone in it,” she shared.
