When we step inside this house we immediately notice that it does not look rich. The walls are covered with ordinary whitewash, there are even cracks on the ceiling, there are metal beds and handmade rugs. It’s incredible that rich people can live here. The owner of the house is a shoe designer, and her husband runs several companies.
Before that, they lived in an elite area of London in a comfortable apartment. «After the children grew up, we decided to change our lives. And finally we chose a modest house in a quiet place», said Penelope.
So they purchased a cozy place with only 1,400 inhabitants, among whom this couple already lives. For the interior, Penelope decided to choose only antique items. They were given things as gifts by relatives and friends, and they bought several things in antique shops. The house, which is full of interesting and unique details, was in good condition because the old residents took care of it.
In the kitchen there are antique tables, chairs and chests of drawers from the previous owners, which give the house a more beautiful appearance.
The house has a study room, which is also renovated in a unique style. There is an antique carpet on the floor, a leather chair, and a handmade lamp on the table.
Above the fireplace hangs a painting that Penelope’s parents gave her. The painting depicted an oak tree that she had seen as a child from the window of her room.
The house is always fun because guests often come to them. Two rooms on the ground floor are connected and serve as a living room for family evenings. This living room surprises with a vintage rug, peach walls, pink curtains and a sofa. The dining room also has an original design with stone floors and a wood burning stove.
The house consists of three bedrooms, including a master bedroom. Penelope independently chose the colors of the walls and interior.
The owner’s bathroom walls were repainted several times until she found her desired yellow color. On the second floor there is a dressing room where all the clothes are stored. The hostess carefully selected colors, patterns and decorative elements.
Here on the second floor are two small beautiful guest bedrooms, again in a unique design.
In one of them there are metal beds, on which a multi-layer effect is created. There are carpets and bedspreads thrown here, which create a cozy atmosphere.
In the other bedroom there is a double iron bed, which gives the room unreal beauty.
