The dog was taking this little animal home thinking that it’s a puppy

This dog, without realizing, could save the life of a newborn bear.

Dogs are so kind and friendly that they can make friends with any creature they encounter.

Sometimes they bring home the results of their investigation. This dog thought he had found good company.

An interesting case recently occurred in Washington County.

A family noticed that their dog had brought home a small creature; he found it in the woods near their yard.

Apparently the dog thought it was a baby dog. The  owners were surprised, knowing it was a black bear.

After a brief examination of the baby, they realized that their dog had just saved his life.

The poor bear’s baby looked very weak, confused and dehydrated.

It was unclear how long the baby had been alone in the woods. Apparently he had gotten lost or couldn’t move to follow his family.

The dog’s owner, Richard Vaughn, looked around in the woods but could not find his mother or his younger siblings.

He reported the incident to the guard as he did not know how to care for the poor baby.

Soon the black little bear was taken to the Virginia Wildlife Center, where he went into caring hands.

The poor bear needed not only food, but also minerals and vitamins. He was put in an incubator.

The dedicated and kind staff at the wildlife center gave the poor black bear cub a second chance at life.

Thanks to the team’s efforts, the baby recovered in a matter of months.

Now he’s back in the wild, where he hopes to find a new mother.
