Clothes clips are amazing objects that can resemble miniature people. They have a body and a pair of tiny wooden arms.

The history of clothespins goes back a long way, connected with the need to dry clothes in the fresh air. At first, split pieces of wood were used for this, but then it became a more complex object. The first clothespins probably appeared in Ancient Egypt.

This simple design consisted of two wood chips connected by dry veins from dead animals. Women used it not only to fasten clothes on a rope, but also as a kind of «clip» for hair or even like a button on warm clothes. This multifunctional use made the clothespin an indispensable accessory in everyday life.

The more familiar version of the clothespin, consisting of two wooden elements and a spring, was invented relatively recently in 1853. Plastic clothespins appeared much later, in the second half of the twentieth century, around the 1970s.
