The iconic beauty was best-remembered for her role in «The Girl Can’t Help It, Promises! Promises!» as well as «The Sheriff of a Fractured Jaw». Misfortunately, her drizzling career had to come to an end when she was killed in a car accident in 1967.

Hargitay was only three and was in the backseat with her two siblings. Luckily, they didn’t suffer any injuries, but their mother, a friend of her and attorney S. Brody died at that time.

The actress adds that being hurt and experiencing trauma in early childhood later became a gift for her and she realized that nothing was certain.

«I clearly was in that frozen place for a lot of my childhood – of trying to survive, actually trying to survive».
