Recently, Chinese scientists discovered a new fantastic place on the planet. This 630-foot-deep sinkhole in China’s Leye-Fengshan Global Geopark has a fairy forest at the bottom. When scientists went down to the bottom of the pit, they saw 40-meter giant trees there.
This unique place has become the hallmark of Southern China and amazes the world from sinkholes to stone pillars and bridges. Karsts are formed under the influence of rainwater. Voids and karst caves form in the rocks, and then huge failures.
This sinkhole is about 630 feet deep, 490 feet wide, and over 1,000 feet long. Trees and plants grow here, many of which are new species. The leader of the expedition said that perhaps no one knows about these plants yet. There were trees more than 130 feet tall in the bushes, he said.
Caves entrances can be very small, making it very difficult to get through. We would like to note that according to the expert, acidic rainwater can destroy rock. Rainwater flows through cracks in rocks and creates holes and tunnels.
