What incredible bond: this homeless cow feels good and at ease with a giant tortoise

This is story of a rare friendship between a baby calf and an elderly tortoise.

We humans can never match the animal kingdom when it comes to beautiful company. Wildlife tends to cross boundaries and form amazing interspecies bonds.

Despite the fact that there are many such stories, each new one is much more beautiful. This time a viral video about a rare friendship between a calf and an elderly turtle.

Leonardo and Simon are two kindred spirits who were separated and rescued in time by the Wildlife Friends Foundation of Thailand (WFFT), where they met.

Leonardo, an agitated African tortoise, was the first to be rescued from a life-threatening emergency at the Bangkok Zoo.

On the other hand, Simon was transferred to this rescue center a few years later. The poor calf lost a leg after a terrible accident.

Here he received a prosthetic leg that allows him to walk, and the team was already looking for a place for him to move, where he would be more comfortable and safer.

“We decided to temporarily house him at the WFFT Rescue Center in a large open field where he could recover from his ordeal,” WFFT said.

Simon, on the other hand, became unable to move when he found solace in an unfamiliar friend. When he met Leonardo, it was love at first sight.

The two rescued creatures seemed to be made for each other, and the way they bonded from the start surprised even the staff at the center.

“To everyone’s surprise, Simone the cow befriended Leonardo the giant tortoise,” WFFT explained.
